6.     Maintain User Profiles

A.     Create New User:

  1. Navigate to PeopleTools >> Security >> User Profiles >> User Profile.
  2. On the search page, click Add a New Value.
  3. In the User ID edit box, enter the user id to create and click Add.
  4. In the General Tab, add a valid password and confirm the password by typing it again in the confirm password field.
  5. Click the ‘Edit Email Addresses’ link and enter at least one valid email address for the user.
  6. Select the default language code and currency code.
  7. Set the appropriate permission lists for navigation home page, primary, process profile and row security permission list.
  8. Go to the ID tab and select the ID type for the user. Enter the ID value and set the appropriate description for the user profile.
  9. Go to the Roles tab and assign appropriate roles. Required dynamic roles will be automatically assigned when the dynamic role process runs next time.
  10. Save the user profile.

B.     Copy User:

  1. Navigate to PeopleTools >> Security >> User Profile >> Copy Users Profiles.
  2. On the search page, enter the name of the User Profile you want to copy and click search.
  3. The Copy User Profile page appears.
  4. On the Copy User Profiles page, enter new User ID, description and password for the user profile being created.
  5. Select the ‘Copy ID type information’ if you want to copy the values in the ‘ID’ tab of the user profile to be copied to the new user profile.
  6. Click Save.
  7. The User Profiles component opens with the new user profile information.
  8. Go to the ID tab and update the ID to reflect the identity of the new user.
  9. Save the user profile.

C.      Delete User:

  1. Navigate to PeopleTools >> Security >> User Profiles >> Delete User Profiles.
  2. On the search page, enter the name of the User Profile you want to delete and click search.
  3. The Delete User Profile page appears.
  4. Click Delete User Profile button.
  5. Click OK to confirm the deletion.
